"Of course not," Katie says. It hasn't been easy for Molly, she knows, the last several months, but she had Lee at her side to help. He was supposed to help her with everything, to be here for her. She hadn't entirely trusted that he would be once, but only because she didn't know him very well and wasn't sure he would stand by Molly like he should. But this, now — this isn't a choice. It's just absence, and it's unfair.
