"I don't think you have to do anything right away," she offers cautiously
after swallowing another sip of her own wine. Swirling the glass, she
watches the liquid flow around the edges, confined by the laws of physics.
"I think being caught off-guard and adrift is allowed. I don't think my mom
knew what to fully do when my dad and I were taken either." Even though
