It's such a hard thing for Katie to wrap her head around, what Molly's implying. It's not something she could or would ever do herself, but her situation is different, she knows that. She's always wanted a family, always planned on having children. Jamie came into her life like a miracle. She'd hoped, too, that she and Russell would have a child, but that wasn't in the stars for her, and she can't imagine she'll meet and fall in love with someone else in the near future. She's not sure she'd want to yet. It's hard to fathom, then, giving up a child of her own.

She can't pretend it isn't hard, though, to raise a child alone. Jamie makes it worth all the trouble, but it can get frustrating sometimes, trying to juggle all of this without help. And she wanted this, she fought for it.

"You have to do what's right for you," she says. "And that'll be what's right for Abigail."
