The package is pretty obviously book-shaped, so when Lee tears off the paper, it's no surprise that it's what she's gotten him. He turns it over in his hands, and opens it idly, and pauses at the message written on the first page in Molly's handwriting. Knowing that he's had doubts since he decided to go to law school— in part because it's the last thing he and his father argued about before he ended up in Darrow— and that she has this confidence in him means a lot.

"Molly, this is... this is great," he says, and though he realizes right away that the word isn't enough, but there's no lack of sincerity in his tone. But really, it hadn't been a question, being there when she found herself the only person left who worked for City Hall.

The book still in his hand, Lee closes the distance between them to wrap an arm around Molly and pull her close, leaning down to press a brief kiss to her lips. "Thank you."
