"Good. I need you to do two things. Watch where you step, and as far as you can see in this shit, keep an eye on the buildings. You see anything weird, you grab me. You don't yell for me. Got it?" Kara's eyes run over Molly's face looking for the agreement before she even opens her mouth, and then they start moving she's scanning the horizon. Molly'd called out her name pretty loud, and Kara's hoping that no one - and nothing - else heard.
They move in silence, and twice Kara stops abruptly, her arm in front of Molly to guide her back as she waits for people to pass. She doesn't recognize them, and in a place like this it's just as likely that somebody's an enemy as they are a friend and she doesn't want to risk it.
They get to the gun shop and it's closed tight with a lock on the barred door, but Kara's staring at it, her eyes running over the door, the windows -- whole thing.
There.
"I need you to watch. Okay? And trust me." After she asks the question, she doesn't even look at Molly. Instead, she's staring up at an unbarred window that's the bottom sill is some eight feet off the ground - and she can get to it, if she's good. And if Kara's anything? It's good.
