"I've used a shotgun a few times," Molly answers, taking the pistol Kara's handed her as she leads the way down the block, in the direction of the nearest church. "I'm better with something small like this, but I can manage if I need to." Two years ago, she wouldn't have been able to say even that much, only just barely getting the hang of shooting a gun at all. Now, she has a lot more practice under her belt, enough to feel that she at least won't be completely clueless, or incapable of doing anything. Chances are, it'll just be the two of them to defend themselves, and she's determined not to be just dead weight for Kara to have to look after. She may not have any comparable experience, but two years of going shooting every other week or so makes her at least comfortable, even if she has to try to stay focused with as officious as this feels. "And, no, I've never shot a person."

She's imagined it plenty, pictured Patrick's face on the target as she's pulled the trigger, wished she'd ever used a gun before that night in his apartment, though that's impossible when that was what prompted her to learn in the first place. It's not even close to being the same thing, though, and she's not going to waste time by acting like it could be.
