"Yeah," Russell agrees and he's thinking of Bateman a little, but he's also thinking of what had happened back home, how that had sort of changed everything. Before his hometown had been destroyed, Russell had never given much consideration to what he wanted out of life or how he was going to get it. Until then, he'd just been content with going along, doing his job, heading home and watching TV until he fell asleep. He'd been happy, but it hadn't been anything exceptional.
